PROTTYASHI’s Social
Empowerment Program aims to support its program participants by empowering them
to advocate for their rights and access essential services. This program
strengthens communities and enhances their capacity for collective bargaining
and negotiation with the government and service providers to secure the
services they are entitled to. It focuses on several key areas to promote
social cohesion, skill and capacity development, ensuring a healthy life, and
individual welfare.
Empowerment and Participation
PROTTYASHI’S
program's primarily focuses to empower communities, particularly those that are
marginalized with a special focus on women and girls. By fostering greater
involvement and representation of marginalized community members in local governments
and decision-making bodies, PROTTYASHI strives to ensure that these individuals
have a voice and influence over matters that affect their lives.
Social Cohesion
Promoting social
cohesion is a vital aspect of PROTTYASHI’s mission. The program works to build
strong, inclusive communities where all members feel valued and connected. By
encouraging collaboration and mutual support among community members,
PROTTYASHI aims to bridge divides and foster a sense of belonging and unity.
Initiatives include community-building activities, cultural exchange programs
& promoting positive norms, dialogue sessions, and conflict resolution
workshops to strengthen social bonds and reduce tensions.
Education
Education is a
cornerstone of PROTTYASHI’s Social Empowerment Program. The organization is
dedicated to improving the quality of primary education in both public and
private institutions. Efforts include supporting community-driven Early
Childhood Development (ECD) programs, offering accelerated and lifelong
learning opportunities, TVET, adult literacy programs, and integrating
out-of-school or never-schooled children into the formal education system.
Additionally, PROTTYASHI works to build the skills and capacities of teachers
at the primary and secondary education levels to enhance educational outcomes.
Migrants’ Welfare
The welfare of
migrants is a critical focus of PROTTYASHI’s initiatives. The program aims to
address the unique challenges faced by migrant workers, including access to information
& essential services, social integration, remittance management and
protection of their rights. By advocating for better policies and providing
direct support, PROTTYASHI works to improve the living conditions and
opportunities available to migrants, prevent human trafficking and support
trafficking survivors includes but not limited to repatriation and
reintegration supports.
Labour Welfare
and Rights
Labour welfare and
rights are central to ensuring a fair and just society. PROTTYASHI's program
advocates for the protection of workers’ rights and the improvement of working
conditions. This includes efforts to ensure fair wages, safe working
environments, and access to social security benefits. The program also supports
labour unions and workers' organizations in their efforts to negotiate better
terms and protect their members' rights.
Protection and
Legal Services
PROTTYASHI focuses
on developing and implementing protection and legal aid programs that
prioritize the needs of survivors. The organization’s efforts are directed
towards making the judiciary and court system more accessible to those seeking
justice and services, ensuring that individuals can effectively navigate legal
processes and receive the support they need.
Through these
focused initiatives, PROTTYASHI’s Social Empowerment Program aims to create a
more equitable and just society by addressing the specific needs of
marginalized communities and enhancing their ability to advocate for themselves
and access essential services. Women Protection and Empowerment initiatives to
combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Child Protection Programs, and Protection
of Rule of Law, along with Ageing Support Programs, will be undertaken to
safeguard vulnerable groups and individuals. These efforts aim to create a more
equitable and safe society for all.
